I create new myths
for film, television,
video games,
and more.
I specialize in the construction of living, breathing secondary worlds and the balance between timeless mythic narrative and focused relational drama. I hold an MFA in screenwriting from Chapman University, where I studied under Oscar-winner David Ward.
My original TV pilot OTHERWORLD was selected for the 2018 New York Stage and Film filmmakers’ workshop and residency, where I was mentored by Zach Helm, writer of STRANGER THAN FICTION. My screenplay VITRUVIAN was a finalist (top five) in the 2016 Austin Film Festival Screenwriting Competition sci-fi/fantasy category. My screenplay STARSFALL was a semifinalist (top ten) in the same category that year, as well as a semifinalist (top 2%) in the 2011 Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting.
I am currently teaching screenwriting at George Fox University and writing an upcoming interactive fiction game for Soma Games.
I have lived in England, France, and California, and now homestead with my wife and children across the river from my hometown in the wilds of Oregon, where my family has lived for six generations. I perform traditional Irish and Scottish folk music and am a member of the Oregon Maple Syrup Products Association.
