Ossian, the last bard of mythic Ireland, returns from a brief sojourn in the Otherworld to find that three hundred years have passed. Everything and everyone he knew is gone. Taken in by a group of monks led by a man called Patrick, Ossian begins to relate tales of heroes, monsters, and an age that will never come again - unaware that his return has opened the old portals and dark things are coming back.
